Fenway Students Meet Chef Jet Tila at MassArt
Fenway students spent yesterday afternoon at Massachusetts College of Art and Design meeting Chef Jet Tila. The group of students, all of whom have a strong interest in the culinary arts, spent time with Chef Jet and learned about his world-class culinary career. Chef Jet started cooking at the age of 3; as a third-generation chef, he told our students that he was inspired by his family of restaurant owners. He is the first Thai Culinary Ambassador and has created world-record meals, including the largest California roll (422 feet!) and an almost 7,000-lb. seafood stew, which he said was the most challenging meal he has ever cooked. Chef Jet is currently the chef at Pakpao Thai in Texas; he has appeared on Chopped, Cutthroat Kitchen, Iron Chef America, and The Best Thing I Ever Ate.
Chef Jet was cooking meals for MassArt’s dining hall yesterday, so our students got a glimpse into the college dining environment and got inspired to create some flavorful dishes at their next weekly Culinary Club meeting.
