Student Clubs and Groups

Academic Support/SAT Prep is offered throughout the year. More information is available from the students’ teachers.

Art Club meets weekly in the newly-created art space. Students work with faculty to create artwork in a variety of media and styles.

Boys to Men meets each week to support male students at Fenway through discussion of issues specific to young men in our society. This group provides a forum for students to share their experiences with the objective of helping them make healthy decisions and process challenges presented to them in a positive way.

Computer Labs/Library are available to all students after school until 5:30 pm.

Culinary Club: Project Bread teaches a variety of classes related to simple and easy food preparation. They teach students helpful kitchen skills that every cook should know. Class topics vary but center around the theme of cultural awareness. Students work together to choose culturally focused menus for each class. Menus use healthy, fresh, and budget-friendly ingredients.

Fenway Debate Team meets weekly and work towards debating in tournaments both nationally and in the Boston Debate League. Students learn the skill of argumentation, speed reading, analysis, and note taking while discussing topics anywhere from immigration, the war on drugs, or mass extinction.

The Fenway Sports Program includes Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball, Boys’ and Girls’ Track and Field, Baseball, and Softball. Practice and game schedules are available from the coaches. Football, Volleyball, and Soccer are also offered as co-operative teams with other local high schools.

The Fitness Rooms are available after school for student use when faculty supervision is available.

MORE is another group for young men at Fenway, requiring a higher level of commitment than the Boys to Men group. MORE stand for “Men, Organized, Responsible and Educated”. Individuals participate in this group by invitation only.

Music Club – Students with or without musical experience are invited to weekly gatherings to learn more about guitar, piano, and/or drums. Mr. Bodine, an avid guitarist and music producer, has a minor in music from Boston College, and he provides instruction in both instruments and music theory.

The Obama Group is a group of young men that strive towards academic excellence. This group is based on academic support with monthly cheek-ins and study groups. The ultimate goal is to a receive honor roll and maintain that honor until graduation.

Sister 2 Sister is a group specifically for girls at Fenway to support one another and learn about issues related to young women in today’s society.

Student Government works to give students a voice in the school.
